In 2007, KFC parent company YUM! International adopted the cause of hunger relief as their CSI initiative, with all funds going to the World Food Programme. Believing that it could use its iconic brand status to contribute to society, and tackle the world’s number one health risk - hunger.
Through the introduction of a fictitious menu item that costs R2, customers can Add Hope to their order 365 days a year at any KFC restaurant.
Add Hope brings KFC and its customers together to make a real difference to lives of over 100 000 children every day (that’s more people than Soccer City can seat!), so that they can learn, grow and thrive. Partnering with ECD (Early Childhood Development) crèches and school feeding programmes, Add Hope supports 110 beneficiaries across the country to provide children with nutritious meals every day.
KFC gives back too! All KFC restaurants donate to the Add Hope initiative every year. They’ve also selected community projects in their areas where they can make meaningful contributions.
