Yaaaaas, more and more sisters are doing it for themselves (and their loved ones) than ever before. It’s awesome. It’s inspiring. It’s long-overdue.

And… it’s just the beginning. In honour of this Woman’s month, we’ll be giving a shout-out to some amazing ladies that have been taking the KFC brand to new heights and, making sure that you always get the great-tasting chicken you love. The Women of KFC Blog Series is extremely proud to shine a spotlight on the following fabulous corporate queens - Akhona Qengqe, Sharon Naidoo Avril Snyman, and Felicity Mokoena…

The Women of KFC

Ms. Felicity Mokoena has been a proud Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at the KFC in Benoni CBD for over two years. Her journey to success started when she joined KFC Northmead in 2002 as a Food Service Team Member, which opened her eyes to all the possibilities within the brand, giving her the opportunities to work with great leaders that were equipped with unique characteristics – helping her to understand the importance of team work and running an operationally effective restaurant. She took up this task with ease and style.

One of the biggest contributions Felicity has made in developing a world class operation, was to change the mindset of the team by instilling a strong sense of self belief amongst her ranks, and ensuring that her team commits to respecting each other. She’s also taken it upon herself to create an open platform encouraging all team members to bring their ideas to the table with confidence, irrespective of their role, as she believes that this is the foundation of running a high-quality, efficient restaurant.

According to Felicity, “When the team passed their Restaurant Operation Compliance Check (ROCC) for the first time after a stream of underperformance, it really lifted everyone’s spirits, and brought a sense of unity in the store.” Something which she feels proud to have contributed towards. With this forward-thinking mindset, she continues; “Since then, our team is focused solely on winning together, and bringing our best selves to the restaurant every day, as this has proven to deliver exceptional results.”

To this day Felicity continues to pass on the lessons that she learnt very early on in her career as she strives to create the next generation of General Managers.
